This session reframes succession planning beyond role replacement, exploring how intentional strategies can help develop individual nurses, strengthen organizational leadership pipelines, and advance the nursing profession. Participants will gain a practical, multilevel approach to building future-ready leaders aligned with workforce realities and industry considerations.

This engaging breakout session introduces nurse leaders to the DISC model of human behavior, a practical and research-informed framework used worldwide to improve communication, teamwork, and leadership effectiveness. Grounded in training materials from Personality Insights, participants will learn how to recognize behavioral styles in themselves and others, adapt their leadership approach, and reduce conflict while strengthening trust and performance within nursing teams. The session is led by a Certified DISC Trainer who is also a Registered Nurse and Certified Public Health Nurse, with a Master’s degree in Public Health, a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Management, and nearly 40 years of professional practice. Designed specifically for nurse leaders, this session offers immediately applicable tools to enhance self-awareness, elevate staff engagement, and lead more effectively in today’s complex healthcare environments.
